OF THE STRING FAMILY

 

THE STUDENTS WILL LEARN ABOUT:

 

Music of the great composers

The history of stringed instruments

The construction of the violin and violin bow

Tone production

Tuning and the vibrating string

Special effects that apply to the string family

          Pizzicato

          Con Sordino

          Double stops, Chords

          Fiddling

The enjoyment of music       

 

WE WILL ENCOURAGE STUDENT PARTICIPATION

The program will be 45 minutes in length

 

The musicians are all professional musicians and members of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 294, Lancaster
